On November 21, the American Music Awards (AMAs) 2021 announced BTS as the winner of their most prestigious honor, “Artist of the Year”. They have managed to defeat powerful competitors in the category, including Drake, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and The Weekend.

“It’s All Because of ARMY”
At the Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles, BTS attended and delivered the acceptance speech in person. Even when they were extremely nervous and excited at the same time, BTS kept expressing their appreciation to their beloved ARMY. The Millennial King of Pop, BTS, believed that becoming the FIRST Asian Artist to win “Artist of the Year” of the 2021 American Music Awards (AMAs) was only possible because of ARMY’s love and supports.

Previously, BTS had become one of the nominees for three categories at the 2021 American Music Awards. These categories are Artist of the Year, Favorite Pop Duo or Group, and Favorite Pop Song for their “Butter” single.
