Spotify released its annual Wrapped campaign this year, disclosing how the world listened to Kpop music in 2022. Discover whether your favorite is in the list of most-streamed Kpop artists and songs with 2022 Spotify Wrapped.
The Most-Streamed Kpop Artists and Songs on Spotify
Kpop has become more popular with growing numbers of fans worldwide. At the end of this year, Spotify data showed that the top 10 most-streamed kpop artists alone reached more than 16.5 billion streams in 2022. In addition, Spotify revealed that the top 10 most-streamed Kpop artists alone increased by 56% and 20% compared to the 2020 and 2021 Wrapped data.

It’s exciting to see how the data reflects the globalisation of Korean music, as we continue to connect artists with more listeners across the world. Top Kpop Artists Globally
ENHYPEN and (G)I-DLE victoriously joined the top 10 list this year. Meanwhile, BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and Stray Kids kept their places from first to fourth. SEVENTEEN, who was in seventh place last year, moved up to number five, followed by TOMORROW X TOGETHER. In addition, two Kpop girl groups, ITZY and Red Velvet, remained in the eighth and tenth spots, respectively.

Top Kpop Songs Globally
BTS and BLACKPINK still dominate the top 10 Kpop songs on Spotify this year. Not only the groups’ songs but their members’ solo projects also took six and three spots on the list, respectively. BTS kept the first place on the list in 2022, Wrapped with their English-language song “Dynamite.” Meanwhile, IVE with “LOVE DIVE” took sixth place to become the one and only track that was not participated by the top two acts. Last but not least, Our Beloved Summer OST “Christmas Tree” by BTS V and Our Blues OST “With you” by HA SUNG WOON and BTS Jimin are also on the list.

The fourth-generation Kpop stars have been expanding their presence in the industry. Seven of the representative fourth-generation Kpop girl groups who debuted since 2018 took the top 10 female Kpop groups: ITZY, (G)I-DLE, aespa, IVE, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, and STAYC. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK and TWICE kept the same top two spots as last year.

Top Kpop Male Groups Globally
As for the male groups, BTS and Stray Kids still held their top two spots on the list of 10 most-streamed Kpop boy groups from last year. SEVENTEEN followed them in third place. Meanwhile, TREASURE emerged as 10th.

Top Female Solo Artists Globally
Following BLACKPINK Lisa on the first spot, IU with “LILAC” and Taeyeon with “INVU” recorded second and third places on the top Kpop female solo artists list this year. Jessi came in fourth with her earworming song “ZOOM,” while TWICE Nayeon took number five with her solo EP “IM NAYEON” The list of most-streamed Kpop female solo artists also included singer-songwriter BIBI, LeeHi, Jeon Somi, Chung Ha, and Rosé.

Top Kpop Male Solo Artists Globally
Among Kpop male solo artists, BTS members j-hope, SUGA (also known as Agust D), and V topped the list from first to third place in order. PSY grabbed global listeners’ attention and rose to number four with his song “That That” featuring Suga. Jay Park came in fifth, based on the success of his hottest works, “MOMMAE,” “GANADARA” featuring IU, and “All I Wanna Do.” Meanwhile, DPR IAN capped the list as 10th.
