The first day of the 2023 MAMA Awards was a dazzling display of talent, showcasing a range of performances that lit up Japan’s Tokyo Dome. Despite the controversy, the opening night of the event was a spectacle. Similar to the previous year, this year’s event spreads across two nights, November 28 and 29. During the first night, the Samsung Galaxy Worldwide Icon of the Year was claimed by BTS. Additionally, the evening saw the distribution of all 10 Worldwide Fans’ Choice (Bonsang) awards. Meanwhile, the Favorite New Artist accolade was shared between two groups this year.

The MAMA Awards 2023 Performances – Day 1
The roster for Day 1 included performances from TXT, ENHYPEN, TVXQ (joined by RIIZE), Jeon Somi, Kep1er, &TEAM, xikers, Lee Young Ji, and Dynamic Duo. Adding to the excitement, the “Street Woman Fighter 2” dancers took the stage, along with JO1 and INI. Fans also enjoyed special appearances from members of Day 2’s groups such as TREASURE, LE SSERAFIM, RIIZE, and ZEROBASEONE.
Among the standout performances was “I AM SPECIAL,” a collaboration featuring Lee Young Ji, LE SSERAFIM’s Hong Eunchae, ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao, and TREASURE members Choi Hyun Suk, Yoshi, and Haruto.
