3 Possible Reasons WHY IU Refused Writer Park Ji Eun Offer
Indeed, there is no official statement as to the reasons why IU refused the new drama offer from “Crash Landing on You” writer Park Ji Eun. However, fans have suspected that she has plenty of good explanations, and here are some of them.
1. Juggling Between Professional Goals as a Singer and Actress
As we all know, IU is pretty much the rarest and most successful idol actress in South Korea. With such an extensive and successful career of 14 years in the Korean entertainment industry, IU has done a fantastic job juggling professional goals both as a singer and actress.
Last year, IU made two outstanding releases as a singer with her “LILAC” and “Strawberry Moon” comeback. The year before, she joined hand with Korea’s prominent producer and BTS member, SUGA, for her single, “Eight”. All this amazing music made IU win the daesang at the 36th Golden Disc Awards 2022, in which she delivered such an inspiring speech.
This is why despite her remarkable acting skills, IU had to make breaks between her projects as an actress.
2. IU Has Too Many Incoming Projects – Clashing Schedule?
As Korea’s most successful idol actress in both the music and filming industries, actress Lee Ji Eun (IU) is always at the top of the list of many writers, directors, and producers. That is why IU has been receiving endless offers for new upcoming drama and movie.
As of today, actress Lee Ji Eun, IU, is currently working on three projects already. She’s currently traveling overseas to film her “Dream” movie with Park Seo Joon. Two more projects are currently pending on her schedule: a webtoon-adapted drama, “Money Game” with Ryu Joon Yeol, and a project with a Japanese 2018 Cannes-winner director, Koreeda Hirokazu, who would be making his first-ever Korean movie, “Broker”.
In addition to these projects, IU has also received more offers for new dramas and movies. Considering that the new drama from “Crash Landing on You” writer Park Ji Eun may start filming this year, it is highly possible that IU refused the offer because of her clashing and overly crowded schedule.
3. IU is Carefully Selecting Her Projects
Finally, one of the most apparent suspected reasons why IU refused the new drama offer is because she’s carefully selecting her upcoming projects.
Previously, IU mentioned that she wanted to live well as who she is instead of competing with her past self. And seeing how “Dream”, “Broker”, and “Money Game” have whole different genres from her past projects, it is highly possible that IU wants to explore more of her acting talents and experiments with different genres.
And considering that most of writer Park Ji Eun projects revolve around classic romance, IU may be pursuing other genres this year.
So, what do you think, Kdrama fans? We have discussed the possible reasons why IU refused the new drama offer from “Crash Landing on You” writer Park Ji Eun. She is rlly pretty 🥺💗
Interesting. Maybe it's true she wants to change her image by choosing different genres from her previous acts.
Oh wow, I was really surprised to hear that IU refused to star in the new drama by the writer of "Crash Landing on You." As a huge fan of both IU and the "Crash Landing on You" team, I can't help but wonder why she would pass on such a great opportunity. Did she have creative differences with the writer? Or maybe she just didn't feel like the role was the right fit for her? Either way, I'm definitely disappointed that she won't be in the drama. I hope she reconsiders and changes her mind soon!
