The Huge Debate Controversy Revolving Around the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards 2022
Among the exciting preparation for the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards 2022, a huge controversy revolves around the categories and nominees.
Immediately after the announcement of the categories and nominees for the Baeksang Awards 2022, fans and viewers began questioning the requirements for the nomination. As we all know, 2021 was a big year for the Korean drama industry with many top-rated projects.
In the drama categories, we had “Snowdrop”, “Hometown Cha Cha Cha”, “One Ordinary Day”, “All of Us Are Dead”. At the same time, in the movie category, we also had “Love and Leashes”, “Pipeline”, and “Young Adult Matters”. All these projects have proved themselves worthy of nominations for the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards 2022.
Therefore, most fans and Kdrama enthusiasts emphasized the necessity of creating a new category: Best OTT Drama. That way, the prominent award can cover more projects both from regular broadcasting network and the OTT platforms such as Netflix, wavve, and Coupang Play.
I trust Baeksang but not gonna lie this year nomination is underwhelming. It's like they decided on popularity over quality. Well, this is the reason why OTT DRAMAS SHOULD HAVE A SEPARATE AWARD SHOW.

baeksang should add ott category next year considering there are many ott dramas these days and netflix is not the only ott available in soukor.

i just need to see dr brain nomination for cinematography/directing but baeksang including OTT and only knows netflix lmao https://t.co/yYe8ayzmK6

imo….baeksang should create another category for ott originals since ott got a wider audiences than tv so seeing them in one category with tv dramas its really not fair anymore.seeing that drama getting all of it made me kinda mad and sad for other dramas…
