Through various sources such as VLive broadcasts and Run BTS episodes, we have gained insights into BTS members’ preferences. Previously, we took a look at BTS favorite perfumes, and now we will delve into their favorite food, ranging from Korean noodles to international churros.
Here are some of BTS members’ favorite Korean food that you must try
1. Naengmyeon (냉면)
BTS members, especially Jin, loves to eat Naengmyeon or Korean cold noodles. Naengmyeon is a Korean cold noodle dish with potatoes, cucumbers, and some other side dishes. Naengmyeon features thin noodles.
The dish is usually served on warmer days because it is served in icy cold broth. We can also enjoy the Korean cold noodles as we finish Korean BBQ as a pre-dessert dish.
2. Kalguksu (칼국수)
Meanwhile, BTS RM prefers Kalguksu (Korean knife-cut noodles soup) to Naengmyeon. Kalguksu is a warm noodles dish with a refreshing and comforting taste. The highlight of this dish is the handmade knife-cut noodles. The noodles have a bouncy texture and thin flat shapes.
Kalguksu noodle and soup is mild, so combining with kimchi salad and cubed radish kimchi (Kkakdugi) is perfect.
Because Kalguksu is served warm, it’s better to enjoy it on a cold rainy day and winter. It will warm your tummy up, as well as your body.
3. Ramyeon
Who doesn’t love Korean ramyeon? Even BTS Jungkook could finish six cups of Korean ramyeon by himself.

We can also observe BTS members enjoying ramyeon in various Vlive broadcasts and shows, such as ‘Burn The Stage,’ ‘Memories’ DVDs, and ‘Bon Voyages’.
What is the difference between Korean ramyeon and Japanese ramen?
Initially, they both are similar in terms of ingredients. However, ramen usually refers to a freshly-made dish from Japan. Ramen is raw noodles boiled in savory broth and has a mild, umami flavor.
Meanwhile, ramyeon is the Korean version of ramen. Korean ramyeon is uis typically made from packaged instant noodles boiled in a powdered broth seasoning and is known for its spicy flavor. The dish is typically spicy.
4. Kimchi
BTS members definitely put kimchi as one of their most favorite food for all seasons. BTS j-hope loves Kimchi fried rice, and Jin likes Kimchi Soup. Meanwhile, BTS Jimin is also a big fan of kimchi jjigae. In short, BTS members love all kinds of kimchi!
5. Samgyeopsal
When you Google ‘BTS Samgyeopsal,’ the first thing that will appear is this:
Samgyeopsal (Korean pork belly BBQ) is one of BTS leader’s most favorite food. However, all BTS members love Samgyeopsal. It is not surprising since this dish is very common in South Korea.
We usually eat Korean BBQ, including Samgyeopsal, with friends and colleagues. To eat Samgyeopsal, we have to wrap the meat with lettuce. We can also add Ssamjang or dipping sauce to make the dish tastier.
6. Japchae (잡채)
BTS V’s most favorite dish is Japchae, another variety of Korean noodles. Japchae looks similar to vermicelli at a glance. However, the types of noodles used are different. Japchae noodles are made of sweet potato starch and are more chewy.
The word ‘Japchae’ itself literally means mixed vegetables. Therefore, we need to add vegetables (besides meat) to the noodles to eat this dish.

7. Galbi
Galbi is BTS favorite food which includes pork or beef ribs. It is a kind of Korean BBQ dish that we will enjoy together with friends and colleagues.
ARMY knows that BTS Suga loves eating Galbi that Jungkook thought he would open a restaurant specialized in serving Galbi. During Run BTS ep 120, Suga announced his marinated galbi craving in the middle of a tennis match.
8. More meat, please!
BTS members’ love for meat is unquestionable. They are willing to give up any food or even their own album to keep the meat on the table (Run BTS ep 140).
Not only that, if we look through BTS shows, we will know that their most favorite food BTS members won’t miss is meat.
9. Churros
Although churros are not initially Korean food, BTS members include churros as one of their favorite food.
In 2018, when the Bangtan Boys visited the US for Billboard Music Awards, they had a chance to do an interview with Jojo Wright from 102.7 KIIS FM. In the interview, the septet was given several LA foods to try. And their eyes sparkled with joy when churros were served.
BTS members, especially Jungkook, couldn’t hold the excitement to eat churros at that time. On another chance, J-Hope and V also caught enjoying churros.
