Kim Dami and Park Hae Soo to Lead in a New Netflix Film “The Great Flood”

On August 2, Netflix announced that “Our Beloved Summer” star Kim Da Mi and “Squid Game” star Park Hae Soo will play the lead in the upcoming Netflix original film “The Great Flood.” Director Kim Byung Woo, who directed a popular thriller film called “The Terror Live,” will be directing the movie.

“The Great Flood” is a sci-fi thriller depicting the doomsday where people struggle to save humanity while in an apartment submerged in water following a great flood.

Kim Da Mi and Park Hae Soo Roles

Earlier in June, Kim Da Mi was reported to be in talks to star in the film. As she has confirmed joining the movie, Kim Da Mi will play the female lead, Anna. Anna is an artificial intelligence development researcher. She is struggling to survive from the great flood.

Meanwhile, Park Hae Soo will play the role of Hee Jo. He is the head of the human resources security team who will try to rescue Anna.

Park Hae Soo is famous for his acting skills and his roles in tvN’s drama series “Prison Playbook” (2017-18), Netflix series “Squid Game” (2021), Netflix film “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations,” and the Netflix series “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area” (2022). In addition, Park Hae Soo has been receiving a nomination for supporting actor in a television series in “Squid Game” at Emmy Awards 2022 Drama Series.

Kim Da Mi debuted as an actress in the action-mystery film “The Witch: Part 1 – The Subversion” in 2018. However, her popularity skyrocketed when she participated in the popular drama “Itaewon Class” in 2020, along with Park Seo Joon. The series was her debut on the small screen since her film debut. Moreover, in 2021-2022, Kim Da Mi played in a popular drama, “Our Beloved Summer,” along with Choi Woo Shik. In addition, she recently signed an exclusive contract with United Artist Agency.

Release Date

The upcoming Netflix original film “The Great Flood” will premiere on Netflix. However, there is no more information yet regarding the premiere date.
