Kim Yoo Jung Joins ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo In Talks for New Drama “Sweet and Sour Chicken”

On September 26, Korean news outlet Hankyung reported that Kim Yoo Jung has been cast in the upcoming Netflix’s new original series “Sweet and Sour Chicken.” And currently, she is in the process of finalizing her appearance in the drama.

“Sweet and Sour Chicken” is a comedy-drama based on a popular webtoon by Park Ji Dok. It follows the story of Choi Min Ah, who turned into a piece of sweet and sour chicken due to a mysterious machine. There is a huge secret behind the incident, and the people involved in it die and disappear. Further, his father and an intern who secretly likes her will join hands to solve the mysteries and bring her back as a human.

Kim Yoo Jung’s Role in the Upcoming Drama

The “Backstreet Rookie” actress Kim Yoo Jung has received an offer to play the drama’s female lead, Choi Min Ah. Choi Min Ah is the daughter of the owner of “Al Machines” company, Choi Sun-Man. If she agrees to take the role, it will be her first drama series project after her last drama, “Lovers of the Red Sky,” in 2021.

Moreover, she might work alongside Cha Eun Woo, Ahn Jae Hong, and Ryu Seung Ryong. These actors also have been cast to appear in the drama. Yet, there is no further information regarding the offers.

Expectations are high that Kim Yoo Jung will take the character of Choi Min Ah, Ryu Seung Ryong as Choi Sun Man, and Ahn Jae Hong as the intern, Go Baek Joong. However, there are no details about Cha Eun Woo’s character yet.

According to the report, director Lee Byung Hun will helm the upcoming Netlix’s original Korean drama series. His famous works are “Be Melodramatic,” “Again My Life,” “Extreme Job,” and more. Moreover, it will start its production in November. After that, it will exclusively premiere on Netflix.
