Dispatch Revealed Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young Constant Abuse & Mistreatments
Following the previous revelation of Lee Seung Gi unfair payment from Hook Entertainment, Dispatch further reported various mistreatments the actor had received from the agency CEO Kwon Jin Young.
Lee Seung Gi had indeed received massive income from his drama and variety show projects. As one of the top-tier Korean actors, Lee Seung Gi’s appearance fee is certainly expensive. There is no issue for this part because Hook Entertainment had properly paid him for his work in these projects.
The problem lies in his song and music projects.
Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young Gaslighted Lee Seung Gi into Believing He’s a Minus Singer
Dispatch revealed that for almost 2 decades of Lee Seung Gi music career in the agency, Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young has constantly gaslighted Lee Seung Gi into believing that he is a minus singer. She even suggested Lee Seung Gi consider his singing as “fan service” because she told him that fans didn’t want to spend money on him.
For the record, a minus singer means he is not making money through his music. So it cannot cover the production cost, resulting in a minus balance.
Lee Seung Gi manager testified on Dispatch that this gaslighting had happened countless of times. And since Lee Seung Gi is happy and content with his fees for dramas and variety shows, he didn’t want to fight back against the agency mindset that he was only a minus singer.
“The CEO would always say to Lee Seung Gi:
‘You are a minus singer. Your fans never spend money but they ask for too much.
Besides, you made a lot of money through other (acting, variety shows) projects, anyway. So, just think of your singing career as fan service.’
She constantly brainwashed him. And when he asked her about accounting, she would scold him. That is why Lee Seung Gi chose not to get cursed out rather than get paid.”

And finally, while the manager was not allowed to drive Lee Seung Gi to his destination for his personal activities, Hook Entertainment CEO Kwon Jin Young would order Lee Seung Gi’s manager to complete her personal errands.

One time, she was shopping, and I was valeting her Ferrari. Then, she suddenly yelled at me. She called me ‘you bastard’ and continued yelling, ‘Get out of the car! You bastard, why are you making noise with the car when I’m walking by? That’s threatening! Tell all the store staff to come out!’.”
