The television adaptation of Min Jin Lee’s bestselling novel of the same name, “Pachinko,” proudly bagged a Gotham Awards 2022 prize.
“Pachinko” Wins The Breakthrough Series for Long Format
The Apple TV+ series produced by Soo Hugh stars prominent actors and actresses like Youn Yuh Jung, Lee Min Ho, Kim Min Ha, Jin Ha, Noh Sang Hyun, and Jung Eun Chae. The family saga takes place in the early 20th century to the 1980s during the Japanese occupation of Korea.
“Pachinko” is recognized for its cinematic quality by winning the Breakthrough Series for Long Format prize at the Gotham Awards 2022, making it the second Korean series to win at the American awards ceremony after “Squid Game” in 2021.

One of the stars, Kim Min Ha, attended the award ceremony in a beautiful dress. She is also a nominee for Outstanding Performance in a New Series. However, she lost to Ben Whishaw from “This Is Going to Hurt.”
Nonetheless, Kim Min Ha’s excellent acting and character in “Pachinko” gained praise from foreign media.

Kim Min Ha to debut in big screen
Kim Min Ha is now filming for her big screen debut as the lead role in “Exposure,” a crime thriller that follows two childhood friends who meet as a murderer and a police officer after 20 years. It will be a reunion project for Kim Min Ha and Rowoon who was once acted together in “School 2017.”
