Korean news media reported that actor Choi Won Young and iKON’s Koo Junhoe are courted to appear in Sparkling Watermelon.
According to an exclusive report from JTBC, actor Choi Won Young has received an offer to appear in the upcoming drama. The offer is reportedly in the final stages of coordination with the production team.
If actor Choi Won Young agrees to join the cast, it will be his comeback drama this year. His last drama was Under the Queen’s Umbrella with actress Kim Hye Soo, where he played the role of King of Lee Ho.
Meanwhile, as reported by SPOTV News, iKON’s Koo Junhoe also has received an offer to join the upcoming new drama. If he accepts the proposal, it will be his second drama project after his acting debut in Bo Ra! Deborah. Bo Ra! Deborah is a new rom-com starring Yoo In Na, Yoon Hyun Min, and more, which will premiere on April 12.
Sparkling Watermelon Korean drama
The upcoming Korean drama Sparkling Watermelon is a romance-fantasy drama. It will follow the life of a boy who lives as an honor student and band member. Through a time slip, he meets his 18-year-old father. And along the way, he makes friends and falls in love with a mysterious girl.
Director Son Jung Hyun will be directing the upcoming drama. His previous works include Mental Coach Jegal and When My Love Blooms, and Should We Kiss?.
Meanwhile, writer Jin Soo Wan who wrote Kill Me, Heal Me, will write the drama script. Her other famous works include Chicago Typewriter and Moon Embracing the Sun. In addition, the upcoming drama will be her comeback project after six years.
Sparkling Watermelon Korean drama will reportedly premiere sometime this year.
