The upcoming drama “Pine” is based on the well-known webtoon of the same name. The webtoon was written by Yoon Tae Ho, the acclaimed author of “Misaeng,” and it was originally published on Kakao webtoon from 2014 to 2015.
The story is inspired by the real-life discovery of a 200-ton trading ship off the coast of Xin’an, South Jeolla Province, in 1975. This remarkable find unveiled valuable artifacts, 7 million Chinese currency, and 22,000 pieces of Song and Yuan Dynasty ceramics.
Moreover, the plot revolves around individuals consumed by unscrupulous greed, relentlessly pursuing underwater treasures. This captivating pursuit unfolds against the backdrop of Sinan’s coastal area.
Kang Yun Seong, known for directing “The Roundup” and Disney+’s “Casino,” will helm the 10-episode drama. In addition, Yworks Entertainment will be in charge of the production.
