According to an exclusive report by SpotvNews, Yang Se Jong has received an offer to play the lead role in the new drama series “The Hooligans.” The Kdrama thriller series is based on the popular webtoon “Pine” (2014) by Yoon Tae-ho, who has had previous works adapted into successful movies and dramas.
Yoon Tae-ho’s webtoon “Ikki” was made into the movie “Moss” in 2010, and his series “Misaeng” became a highly successful drama in 2014.
“The Hooligans” Storyline
In the 1970s, an uncle and his nephew, seeking to escape poverty, started selling fake goods. Eventually, an opportunity came their way. They received an offer to go to the West Sea and search for treasure.
Without hesitation, they decided to take the risk. However, their journey was challenging. As they embarked on their quest, they encountered numerous perilous adventures.
Their main objective was to locate underwater artifacts near Shinan. Along the way, they encountered various ruthless individuals, each with their own motivations and distinct approaches to uncovering the hidden relics.
Production
Renowned director Kang Yoon-sung is set to direct the upcoming drama series. Following his triumphant return with Disney+ original series “Casino,” also known as “Big Bet,”this project marks his next exciting venture. Kang Yoon-sung’s other notable work includes the well-received “The Roundup.”
“The Hooligans” is set to be released on an OTT platform, offering audiences a thrilling and immersive viewing experience.
