From BTS guest-starring in Friends reunion, Online Kpop festival KCON:TACT 4 U, to Baekhyun YouTube channel, here are a few of Kpop updates within this week you need to know.

1. BTS to guest Friends reunion special on HBO Max

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Kpop boy group BTS will make a guest appearance in the upcoming reunion special of ‘Friends.’ RM has repeatedly stated in several interviews that he learned English from bingeing the series. His English is undoubtedly outstanding as he can reach a mind-blowing TOEIC score

Other updates from BTS is that they will have their first performance of the upcoming single ‘Butter’ at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The track is BTS second English single after the smashing ‘Dynamite’ and set to be released on May 21.

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards will be held on May 28 at 8 p.m. EST. Don’t miss it!

2. WJSN The Black debut album ‘MY Attitude’ and track ‘Easy’

Exy, Eunso, Seola, and Bona released their debut album ‘My Attitude’ on May 12. Check out the second sub-unit of Cosmic Girls, WJSN The Black debut single’ Easy.’

3.JAY B first solo single ‘Switch It Up’ under new label H1GHR MUSIC

The 27-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer Jay B revealed that he had signed with Jay Park’s record label H1GHR MUSIC. He stated on his Instagram, “Hello, this is JAY B. Starting today; I will be with H1GHR MUSIC. I’m very happy to be showing my music with H1GHR MUSIC, but on the other hand, I’m also worried too. I’ll do my best to show you better performances in the future so that I can be a good addition to [the company].”

On May 14, Jay B released his first solo single, ‘Switch It Up,’ produced by Cha Cha Malone, featuring rapper Sokodomo. The single is a silky, smooth R&B that shows off Jay B’s glossy and effortlessly cool vocals.

4. Online Kpop Festival, KCON:TACT 4 U first lineup

Get your lightsticks ready; it’s KCON:TACT time! Save the date for the online Kpop festival this year titled ‘KCON:TACT 4 U’ on June 19 to 27.

Earlier this week, KCON has revealed the first lineup of KCON:TACT 4 U performers. They are Weki Meki, SF9, ONF, Oneus, iKON, Highlight, Golden Child, and BTOB. There will be two more line up of artists coming up to make the online Kpop festival more festive.

KCON:TACT 4 U will be live-streamed worldwide and translated into multiple languages. However, until this article is written, there is no ticket information yet. We’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned.

5. EXO Baekhyun YouTube video during his military enlistment

Baekhyun officially enlisted in the South Korean military precisely on his birthday, May 6. He seems to understand that his fans are going to miss him severely during the service. Baekhyun said he has prepared a series of videos for his YouTube channel’ 큥Tube’ and will release one video every month.

In the first video, ‘Three Ways to wait for Baekhyun,’ he wrote on the video description box, “Hello, this is Baekhyun! My dear 큥Tube subscribers, I enlisted [on] May 6, but I want to go on with you guys! Will you be with me!?! 큥Tube will be uploaded monthly on the 17 at 7 p.m. KST (6 a.m. EST). However, this schedule can be altered depending on timeliness.”

Make sure you turn on the notification from Baekhyun YouTube channel so that you won’t miss the monthly video.

Besides his video, Baekhyun also updated his fans on May 13 with a handwritten letter, asking fans to use the hashtag #백현아이때만을노렸다 [Baekhyun, I’ve been aiming for this moment].
