Billboard has done it again! Seems like this US media company likes to delightfully feed on Kpop fans’ anger. A recent social media post from Billboard faces massive criticism it reportedly ignited fan wars between BLINKs. Fueling the recent scandal, Billboard has reportedly pinned BLACKPINK Jennie recent vaping video incident with Lisa upcoming performance at Global Citizen Festival. Was it necessary though? Let’s discuss together in the story below.
Billboard Fueled BLACKPINK Latest Scandal: Massive Criticism from Fans
As one of the biggest Kpop acts in history, the journey and decisions of BLACKPINK members have always been under the public spotlight. What they did, wear, and how they behave become interesting topics to discuss among Kpop fans and global entertainment community.
American media company, Billboard, understands this notion very well. That is why even though they often underestimate Kpop, they like to take advantage of BLACKPINK and BTS’s fame, knowing that these two Kpop groups have a massive impact due to their enormous fan communities.
And so, the company has done it again. After unnecessarily dragging BTS into their previous article about other Kpop groups, now Billboard made the spotlight by igniting fan wars between supporters of BLACKPINK Jennie and Lisa.
Comparing Jennie Vaping Video Scandal with Lisa Global Citizen Festival Performance
So, what exactly did Billboard do this time?
A few days ago, Billboard posted on X, discussing about what BLACKPINK members were up to. However, both the caption and content of the footage allegedly contain provocations for BLACKPINK solo stans.

In this post, the media featured several updates from BLACKPINK members. However, fans believe that Billboard has unnecessarily compared BLACKPINK Jennie recent vaping video scandal with Lisa upcoming performance at Global Citizen Festival.
While putting together several updates about a group is standard journalism practice, comparing BLACKPINK Jennie vaping video scandal with Lisa Global Citizen Festival performance had only sparked more fan wars between Jennie and Lisa’s solo stans.
By quoting the post, Lisa’s stans repeatedly praised their idol for performing marvelously as an artist with her “ROCKSTAR” comeback and upcoming performance. Meanwhile, Jennie was allegedly busy creating scandals.

j stans: oh they need to say j’s name
lmao they wanted to check what each one is upto and ofc the most embarrassing one is busy apologising for an illegal act and the most talented one is headlining a major festival for a good cause https://t.co/E1jVifn1uS

On the other hand, Jennie’s stans believe that Billboard is trying to gain exposure by mentioning Jennie, something they think Lisa could not achieve for the media.
Who wrote this is 100% lilie like using Jennie's name to promote that lizard releases and activities is so obvious

Not only that, Jennie’s solo stans started attacking Lisa through the QRTs. They claimed that Lisa was not able to sell out the tickets to a festival of which her boyfriend’s family sponsored.

Was It Necessary?
At the end of the day, while combining several updates in one news article is a common journalism act, fans believe that Billboard was unprofessional by comparing BLACKPINK Jennie vaping video scandal with Lisa upcoming performance at Global Citizen Festival.
Without reading into the current situations among the fans, Billboard only pinned the two female artists—along with their fans—with each other, creating massive fan wars and hate comments against the two brilliant artists.
the headline is so fucking unprofessional https://t.co/FhnNk4lBfT

Corny stan fights aside, can we talk about how @billboard has an awards show for women empowerment or whatever yet they're pinning two women against eachother? Billboard isn't what it used to be even popcrave is more professional yikes https://t.co/VdFb2VsLdf pic.twitter.com/rBs4pPUD4G
