Kpop fans, the rumors are, unfortunately, not true. BLACKPINK Jisoo will not be releasing any solo album comeback in 2024 or anytime soon. Yet, how did this happen, and what exactly is the reason why Jisoo has not returned as a soloist this year? Explore the possible reasons as well as the official statement regarding Jisoo’s upcoming plans and activities.
BLACKPINK Jisoo is NOT Releasing Solo Album in 2024
Rumors have widely circulated that BLACKPINK visual and vocalist Jisoo is planning on releasing a solo album in 2024.
On November 8, Korean media outlet Xports News released an exciting exclusive report, saying that Jisoo will be making a return as a soloist following Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé. Not only that, but Xports News also revealed that Jisoo had been in the final stage of her solo comeback preparation. Moreover, a new music video has been reportedly ready to film later this month.
Yet, unfortunately, all these rumors are not true.
A while after the rumors circulated widely on the internet, Jisoo’s personal label, BLISSOO, refuted the report. Initially, the label only stated that they couldn’t confirm anything yet. However, a representative from the company later revealed to another Korean media outlet, Newsen, that the circulating rumors were not true.
“The rumors of (Jisoo’s) solo comeback are not accurate.”

The Reason Behind the Absence of Jisoo’s Solo Album Comeback
So, what exactly is the reason behind this long-awaited pause of Jisoo’s comeback as a soloist?
Further in the report, Newsen also revealed that, according to BLISSOO, BLACKPINK Jisoo is not planning to release any solo album in 2024 to concentrate on her acting career.
After setting up her own label, BLISOO, in February, Jisoo has mostly been focused on acting. She is now busy with the highly anticipated movie, “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,” which is lined up for release, and will also be in Coupang Play’s series “Newtopia.” There’s even talk of her joining the new controversial drama “Monthly Boyfriend.”
Yes, in 2024, the BLACKPINK members have been diving into their solo careers after wrapping up their contracts with YG Entertainment. Lisa, Jennie, and Rosé have all been making waves with solo music. Jennie recently wowed fans with her single “Mantra,” and Rosé teamed up with Bruno Mars on the song “APT.”
With Rosé’s global success with “APT,” Jennie’s “Mantra,” and Lisa’s “ROCKSTAR,” each member has made impressive strides solo. That is why fans are highly anticipating Jisoo’s return to music.
Unfortunately, we would have to wait a while longer. After all, with all of her ongoing dramas and movies, the post-production process, and promotional activities, not to mention all the solo activities as a global fashion icon, there’s very little room for Jisoo to prepare for another solo album project.
Therefore, as disappointing as it is, we will have to be patient and wait for Jisoo to process everything she has long wished to accomplish.
Finally, are you disappointed with this new clarification from BLISOO? Will you be willing to accompany Jisoo in every piece of her endeavor? Please share your thoughts with us below.
