So, how was that possible, and what had exactly happened?
Media mentioned that Seoul police received reports that a pub was still operating on January 18 at 1 AM KST. As a matter of fact, the current COVID-19 regulation in South Korea only allows the establishment to operate only until 9 PM in Seoul. So naturally, such a drinking establishment opening past midnight immediately became a problem.
“A pub in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul is operating even after the 9 PM business limit.”
report received by the Police.
Once the report reached the Seoul police, they immediately moved toward the location. However, they couldn’t get into the pub immediately because of the locked door. Therefore, the police decided to force the door open with the assistance of the firefighters.
Along with SF9 members Chani and Hwiyoung, 13 other people were present in the drinking establishment that caused the controversy. From SF9 members Chani & Hwiyoung, their acquaintances to the pub’s staff, the police arrested and booked a total of 15 people for a COVID-19 rule violation.
Then, after the news circulated on the internet and social media, SF9’s FNC entertainment agency confirmed with an official statement.
“We have confirmed that our artists violated the social distancing rules on January 18 at 1 AM.”
