ABC Digital Paraguay Called BTS Achievement on US Chart as Cheating

A Paraguayan media, ABC Digital, posted a malicious article about BTS on their website. ABC Digital mentioned that BTS achievement on US Chart was based on cheating strategy to manipulate the most important measurement system in the music industry.

On June 16, Twitter was bombarded with a hashtag #ApologizeABCCOLOR because of an article posted by a Paraguayan media, saying that BTS achievement was a manipulation.

The Paraguayan media called ABC Digital posted a malicious article about BTS on June 12 (local time). ABC Digital Paraguay claimed that BTS achievement in conquering US Chart had been because of their cheating strategy and manipulation in the most important measurement system in the music industry.

Furthermore, ABC Digital mentioned that BTS manipulation strategy was to ‘sell cheap and buy in bulk’. According to the media, BTS put only a 69-cent price for their newly released song, Butter, which then followed by the premeditated maneuver of ARMY fans to acquire the song repeatedly. That is why BTS statistics managed to increase significantly in a short time.

Furious ARMY Fans Put #ApologizeABCCOLOR Hashtag on Twitter and Demand Apology

As a response to this article, on June 16 around 1 pm KST, #ApologizeABCCOLOR has been trending in the South Korean trending topics.

BTS fans, ARMY or not, was furious because they believed that ABC Digital’s article was groundless and without proof. Therefore, they demanded apology from the media and the article to be removed.
