SM Entertainment’s 4th generation monster rookie, aespa, recently released its comeback single, “Supernova,” as a part of its upcoming 1st album, “Armageddon.” Following the recent fire incident, aespa must once again face another controversy involving one of its brilliant members, Giselle.
On May 19, Korean variety show “Amazing Saturday” posted a teaser of aespa upcoming promotion for its latest track,“Supernova.” The teaser showcased aespa members dancing professionally with a powerful presence along the beat of their song.
While this teaser has raised massive anticipation from fans, others raised concerns and controversy about the revealing outfit of aespa member Giselle.
A Controversy Involving Giselle and Her Revealing Outfit
Immediately after the teaser went public, a post in the South Korean community raised controversy about aespa Giselle outfit.
On the “Amazing Saturday” teaser, aespa Giselle wore a white cropped top covering only the front part of her body. The back of this cropped top was only tied with thin strings, exposing all the back and sides of Giselle’s body.
Normally, when Kpop idols wear revealing outfits, stylists will complement them with skin-tone inner tops or black shorts for pants. These are extremely crucial to prevent unwanted wardrobe malfunctions and protect the idols when such dangerous incidents happen.
However, this time, aespa Giselle seems to have worn nothing underneath that revealing outfit. Although she wears a jacket in most of the filming, aespa Giselle must take off the jacket while performing “Supernova.” Therefore, this sparks concerns among fans, especially when she has to wear the top while dancing in front of the guests and the camera.
