**aespa “Girls” Album Broke Records for BOTH First-Day AND First-Week Sales by ANY Girl Group in One Day**

On July 8, 4^th gen monster rookie aespa revealed their most-anticipated comeback with 2nd mini-album, “Girls”. And on the same day, the Hanteo chart revealed that aespa had reached 806,891 total copies during the first-day sales of the “Girls” album.

Having over 806k of sales copies on the same day of “Girls” album release date, it means that aespa has broken the records for BOTH first-day and first-week sales records by ANY girl group in Kpop history. And they managed to do it in just one day.

Previously, the highest first-day sales record belonged to BLACKPINK “THE ALBUM” with 589,310 copies back in 2020.

Moreover, aespa has also created a new milestone for first-week album sales by ANY girl group in Hanteo history. The previous highest first-week sales record was 736,221 copies, reached by BLACKPINK Lisa with her “LALISA” solo album. Before Lisa, the highest first-week sales record belonged to BLACKPINK “THE ALBUM” with 689,066 copies.

Today, aespa managed to shock everyone and smashed those a-week worth of records in just one day. It means aespa holds the fourth highest first-day sales record in Hanteo history with their “Girls” album, after BTS, SEVENTEEN, and TXT.

On July 10, aespa was seen arriving at the Incheon Airport upon completing their schedules for UN speech and GMA concert. During this time, a massive crowd gathered at the airport, waiting for the girls to arrive.

And as aespa members appeared, the gathering crowd became even more uncontrollable. While Karina and Winter seemed to have successfully passed them safe and sound, the wild crowd had apparently harmed one of aespa members, Giselle.

What Really Happened?

While nobody witnessed what had happened during aespa arrival, one of the fans’ cameras caught Giselle limping towards the airport exit.

Giselle seemed to have a hard time making her way back from the arrival gate, especially with the people in the crowd pushing her from both sides.
