On June 16, a Paraguayan TV host, Mike Silvero, is under fire after his racist comments over Grammy-nominated group from South Korea, BTS, and mocked BTS ARMY, who are rooting for them. ARMY (BTS’s fandom) defend the septet by raising the hashtags #RACISMISNOTCOMEDY, #ApologizeMikeSilvero, and #ApologizeABCCOLOR.
BTS ARMY Demands Mike Silvero an Apology to BTS for “Racist” Comments
Who is Mike Silvero, and what he said?
Mike Silvero is a TV host of the GEN channel in Paraguay. In a TV segment, he gave his “opinion” about BTS and comparing the group to other Kpop groups.

“Army didn’t hurt anyone. At least not physically hurt. The only damage they did to themselves was idolizing seven people from South Korea who were 20 years old like that, who can only be identified by their hair color. And, they are not very skilled at what they do because they make songs with a formula. Like Professor Utonium created the power puff girls. Only without the X factor. It sounds exactly like a lot of other things that already existed. Only you guys are in love with these overpriced products.”

“They are overrated that is visually better than their competition. It’s true. Let’s talk seriously; EXO is better at vocal level, MONSTA X is cooler, GOT7 is more content, and Seventeen is also better.”
Moreover, he also commented on his Twitter concerning a malicious article about BTS Cheating on US Chart Achievement.
Bts fans didn't even read the source of the article of less than 600 words,

Mike Silvero responds BTS ARMY.
After his “racist” comments gone viral, on June 17, Mike Silvero made a response to BTS ARMY in a video titled “Silvero brinda una respuesta al ARMY,” or “Silvero answers ARMY.” Wearing a bulletproof vest, he apologized and explained his last opinion as “jokes.”
However, many BTS fans are still disappointed with what he has said and wrote it in the comment and dislike the video. Here are the comments from BTS fans:
- No, your comments are not funny. And do not justify yourself under “it’s humor, here we make fun of reality.” There is something called respect, and when you cross that limit, your little joke is no longer funny. Just as you demand respect and victimize yourself under your 10 thousand comments wishing you evil, I really don’t know where you get them. Because the only thing that ARMY was demanding were apologies, respect for others’ work. BTS music is not to everyone’s taste, and it is respected, but then you should respect their work too, and learn to respect people as individual beings. And if you are going to apologize publicly, do it well; it doesn’t put you as a victim and try to justify yourself.
- Those who bully always say, “Just kidding,” “we’re just having fun together.”
- Crazy … if you don’t like BTS all right, it doesn’t matter, but giving “opinions” like that is the most ridiculous thing to do.
