ARMY Trends #WeThankYouTaehyung as a Part of “I Purple You Day” Celebration

On October 14, ARMY celebrated the “I Purple You Day” worldwide by taking over the internet with the hashtags #WeThankYouTaehyung and #IPurpleYouDay. The phrase was created by BTS V, or Kim Taehyung, during BTS Muster in 2016. ARMY must have known the meaning of “I Purple You.”

Four years ago, in BTS Muster, BTS V coined the phrase “I Purple You” or “borahae.” When we think about the meaning of “I Purple You,” we might guess that BTS V just made it up. However, there is a deep meaning to the phrase.

“Purple is the last color of the rainbow, so it means I will trust and love you for a very long time. In this way, the words “I purple you” have come to represent the intense love and appreciation that ARMYs and BTS feel for each other.”
