On August 19, the Korean Business Research Institute published the brand reputation rankings for August 2023 most popular Kpop boy group members. These rankings deliver insights into the popularity and influence of the individual Kpop boy group members right now. Let’s take a look at the top 100 Kpop boy group member brand reputation rankings in August 2023.

BTS Jungkook Continues to Lead on Top 100 Individual Kpop Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings in August 2023

The Korean Business Research Institute collected 109,355,473 brand data points from 716 Kpop boy group members between July 19 and August 19, 2023. Compared to July’s dataset of 84,273,197 brand data points, the dataset for August experienced a 29.76% increase.

Furthermore, the institute analyzed consumer behavior using the dataset to obtain the brand reputation index and determine the popularity rankings of boy group members. The analysis considered brand participation, media coverage, communication, and community awareness factors.

As a result, BTS members Jungkook and Jimin, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, BTS’ V, and Wanna One’s Kang Daniel secured the top five spots on the list. These members have gained immense popularity and demonstrated exceptional brand reputation in the Kpop industry.

Top 5 Kpop Boy Group Members

1. BTS Jungkook

• Brand Participation Index: 405,488
• Media Index: 983,303
• Communication Index: 2,320,016
• Community Index: 3,283,880

BTS’s Jungkook maintained the top spot in the rankings for the second consecutive week. His popularity soared as a result of his remarkable achievement in dominating music charts globally with his solo track “Seven.” In August 2023, his brand value experienced a significant increase of 50.79%, rising from 4,637,262 in July to 6,992,686 in August.

In keyword analysis, highly ranked keywords associated with Jungkook included “Billboard,” “Seven,” and “Spotify.” Meanwhile, in link analysis, terms like “record,” “congratulate,” and “chosen” also received high rankings. Additionally, the positivity-negativity analysis revealed an outstanding 93.08% positive reaction towards Jungkook. The analysis results showed his unwavering popularity and his strong support from his fans.

2. BTS Jimin

• Brand Participation Index: 492,226
• Media Index: 466,842
• Communication Index: 1,678,221
• Community Index: 1,792,671

Jimin of BTS claimed the second spot this month. He made a surprise appearance and delivered a mesmerizing performance at Suga’s D-DAY encore concert in Seoul. His brand reputation index increased by 5.11%, rising from 4,214,731 to 4,429,960 in August.

3. ASTRO Cha Eunwoo

• Brand Participation Index: 1,424,922
• Media Index: 794,899
• Communication Index: 959,347
• Community Index: 941,003

Cha Eun Woo’s brand reputation index skyrocketed by 120.68% this month, landing him in the third position. His brand reputation index increased from 1,867,038 in July to 4,120,171 in August. The idol actor recently impressed fans at the Chaumet Pop-up opening in Seoul. In addition, fans are also eagerly awaiting the premiere of his upcoming drama “A Good Day to be a Dog.”

4. BTS V

• Brand Participation Index: 306,669
• Media Index: 294,808
• Communication Index: 1,316,167
• Community Index: 1,991,396

BTS member V, also known as Kim Taehyung, maintained the fourth position in the rankings with a brand reputation index of 3,909,040. This index marks a significant increase of 55.96% from his index of 2,506,455 in July. V recently released two solo tracks, “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days.” These tracks are pre-releases from his highly anticipated album, which is set to debut in September. Additionally, V will be gracing the cover of “POP” magazine’s autumn/winter issue in September. He is the second solo male to be featured on the magazine’s cover, following Elton John.

5. Wanna One Kang Daniel

• Brand Participation Index: 858,256
• Media Index: 819,290
• Communication Index: 792,004
• Community Index: 1,128,692

Kang Daniel will return to host the “Street Woman Fighter 2” variety show starting August 22 on Mnet. Additionally, his world tour documentary film, “KANGDANIEL: MY PARADE,” will be released in cinemas worldwide. It will hit the cinemas on August 30 and September 2, 2023.

However, this month, his brand reputation index for his performances decreased by 19.55%. It fell from 4,472,880 in July to 3,598,242 in August. Despite the drop, Kang Daniel managed to secure his place at No. 5 on the rankings.
