BABYMONSTER Ahyeon Faces Another Dancing Controversy
Nothing seems to be going right for Ahyeon even after her historic comeback at BABYMONSTER’s re-debut. From one of the top legendary “little Jennie” trainees of YG, Ahyeon is now pushed to the back of BABYMONSTER’s roster due to many controversies surrounding her presence.
During her trainee period, Ahyeon was heavily criticized for a performance containing racial slurs. It resulted in massive hate comments that resulted in her deteriorating mental health, causing her to skip debuting with BABYMONSTER. It was why BABYMONSTER’s “Batter Up” only comprised 6 members.
Afterward, with immense support from her loyal fans, Ahyeon eventually returned to the group. She perfects the full force 7-member formation with “SHEESH,” sending a new wave of trends in the new generation Kpop community.
But even then, BABYMONSTER Ahyeon still faced another controversy, with people targeting her dancing, accusing her of “overshadowing” her fellow members. The ongoing criticism allegedly changed her personality. Ahyeon reportedly became quieter compared to her earlier trainee days.
Since the controversy, BABYMONSTER Ahyeon has been listening to fans’ suggestions and toning down her dancing. And still, after the group’s latest comeback, some fans once again criticized Ahyeon for being “lazy” and “unenergetic” in her dancing.
“Lazy” or “Unenergetic” Performance
Following the group’s latest comeback, BABYMONSTER is releasing various dance videos and challenges for the “DRIP” and “CLICK CLACK” title tracks. And yet, in the “DRIP” performance video released on November 5, fans noticed that Ahyeon was not as energetic as she used to.
Not only that, but fans also noticed that Ahyeon massively toned down her dancing energy in many of BABYMONSTER video challenges.
While this may be the result of the contemplation of the previous criticism, it resulted in another dancing controversy against BABYMONSTER Ahyeon.
Missing Previous Dancing VS Just Right
Some fans claimed to be defending Ahyeon, hoping she would return to her powerful and popping dance style that fans had immensely loved since her trainee days.

And yet some others believed that this energy of Ahyeon was just right. Some fans believe that Ahyeon current dancing style is just the perfect match for the other BABYMONSTER members.

Finally, fans started rallying to defend BABYMONSTER against the dancing controversy, both the “lazy” and “overly-energetic” criticisms. Therefore, fans demand that Ahyeon be left alone.
