BABYMONSTER Announces Official Fandom Name, MONSTIEZ

The 5th generation Kpop rookie, BABYMONSTER, has finally made significant progress in its global branding and promotion.

On July 26, BABYMONSTER uploaded a video on its official YouTube channel, announcing the official name of its fandom, MONSTIEZ. Taking the format of a hilarious and adorable news program, members of BABYMONSTER reported the launch of this official name along with its meaning.

According to RAMI, who took the role of the reporter, BABYMONSTER’s MONSTIEZ combines the words “MONS” from “BABYMONSTER” and “TIES,” which means “close bonds and relationship.” Therefore, with this new name, they hope that BABYMONSTER and MONSTIEZ form a close bond that ties them together.

“BABYMONSTER and MONSTIEZ are each other’s closest entities that can rely on each other and support each other in all ways.”

Along with the new official name, BABYMONSTER also announced the official logo for MONSTIEZ. While it might be simpler than you expected, the MONSTIEZ logo perfectly blends the savage and cuteness of BABYMONSTER’s young members. While it takes the form of a heart symbol at first look, you will realize that two sharply pointed angles at the top of the heart represent the savage horns, representing the savage “monster” -ly talented side of BABYMONSTER.

Carrying YG’s Fate on Their Shoulder

Previously, BABYMONSTER had caught attention after YG reportedly filed trademarks for MONSTIEZ. While some fans believed it would become the official name to call BABYMONSTER’s fans, there were others who thought that the name would be perfect for a merchandise line or characters.

Yet now members of BABYMONSTER have officially announced that MONSTIEZ is indeed the official name of their fans. And with these new updates, BABYMONSTER will be able to further expand its brands and promotion both on local and global markets.

Do you think they will be able to succeed and eventually save YG with this new branding strategy? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
