Baskin Robbins Hires BTS to Represent August Flavor with BTS Cake

July 19 is celebrated as Ice Cream Day. What about talking about BTS and the huge American ice cream company? It is reported that Baskin Robbins hires BTS to represent the month of August flavor with Baskin Robbins BTS cake.

On July 2, the ice cream company’s Korea branch announced that Baskin Robbins hires BTS as a brand ambassador to promote August’s flavor.

The American ice cream chain operated by SPC Group in Korea had its representative to release the statement, “We believe August will be more special for Baskin Robbins with BTS.” The official also added, “We have captured the charms of BTS in the advertisement to make you forget the summer heat, so do look forward to it.”

Baskin Robbins has finished shooting the advertisement on June 30 for the special August flavor. The ad is planned to be released in August via social media and cable TV.

Surprisingly, the Baskin Robbins BTS ad is noticed to be leaked on the internet. Regarding this matter, Baskin Robbins Korea has released an official statement on Twitter.

The first statement the ice cream company tweeted earned criticism from BTS fandom. ARMYs felt that it was directed at BTS fans, though there was no evidence that ARMY was the one leaked the commercial. Shortly afterward, Baskin Robbins changed the stern statement.

“Hello, this is Baskin Robbins. We sincerely apologize for the problem that the video that Baskin Robbins had prepared with the Bulletproof Boy Scouts leaked before completion, and anxious to those who shared the video in good faith in the process of preventing further leakage. Baskin Robbins will do its best to ensure that similar things do not recur in the future. The Baskin Robbins X bulletproof Boy Scouts video is currently being prepared for a better look. We are deeply grateful for your interest and love for Baskin Robbins and BTS.”

The Massachusetts-based ice cream company said that there will be special events for the collaboration with the Bangtan Boys. The product, a Baskin Robbins BTS ice cream cake, will be available for pre-order starting mid-July.

As a part of the promotion, it is informed that with every purchase of a Baskin Robbins BTS cake, fans will get a signal light keychain and a photocard. Still, there is no info on whether this offer will also be available outside South Korea.
