JTBC’s hit series “Be Melodramatic” in 2019 is a romantic comedy that follows three girlfriends in their 30s. Being friends for so long, they share their troubles, dreams, and love stories and grow together in finding their place in society.
8. “Romance is a Bonus Book” (2019)
“Romance is a Bonus Book” is romance drama series starring Lee Na Young and Lee Jong Suk. The drama follows the love story of Cha Eun Ho (Lee Jong Suk) and his childhood friend Kang Dan Yi (Lee Na Young).
Cha Eun Ho is a handsome and successful writer. Meanwhile, Kang Dan Yi is a single mother and former copywriter who is struggling to regain her career. As they become intensely involved in each other’s life, their feelings start to grow.
9. “Our Beloved Summer” (2021)
“Our Beloved Summer” is a romantic youth drama starring Choi Woo Shik, Kim Da Mi, Kim Sung Cheol, and Roh Jeong Eui. The story follows two students, Choi Woong (Choi Woo Shik) and Kook Yeon Soo (Kim Da Mi), who were set in one frame for a documentary project during high school. Years after, the documentary gets viral, and two of them are set to be back in front of the camera and unveil their true feelings.
10. “Happiness” (2021)
tvN’s hit drama “Happiness,” is an action thriller drama starring Han Hyo Joo and Park Hyung Sik. The drama series follows Yoon Sae Bom (Han Hyo Joo) and Jung Yi Hyun (Park Hyung Sik), who are struggling to survive from infected people with a mysterious virus in a sealed apartment.
11. “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” (2022)
ENA’s hit K-drama series “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” is ongoing drama series that premiered on June 29, 2022. The story follows the daily life of a girl named Woo Young Woo (Park Eun Bin), who has ASD (autism spectrum disorder). She works as a rookie attorney in one of Korea’s top law firms, Hanbada. Further, with a high IQ of 164, incredible intellect, and memorization skills, she is able to think outside the box to solve cases and keep justice on top.
In addition, the series will get a webtoon adaptation of the same name, with HwaUmJo and Yuil will be the illustrator and writer of the series, respectively. The webtoon series version will have 60 episodes and be available in four languages, Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese.
The adaptations are available on Naver Webtoon and Kakao. However, some of them are not available in English translation.
