Then she met a junior civil service officer Park Min-Jae (Lee Je-hoon), who can speak English well. One day, Park Min-Jae found out her reason to be able to speak in English. Since then, he helps and encourages her more than before.

Kang In-ho (Gong Yoo) is a newly appointed art teacher and sign language practitioner at Gwangju Inhwa School. It is a school for the hearing impaired in Gwangju, which was established in 1961. Kang In-ho is the first person who notices something wrong happened to the children.
He was learning the children’s strange behavior and bruises on their bodies. To help the children, he was assisted by Yoo-Jin (Jung Yu-mi), who works at the human rights center. Together, they reveal the acts of sexual abuse committed by the principal and other teachers.
After the movie’s release, it brought public outrage over the weak judiciary system and court rulings for the perpetrators. Further, the public outrage also leading the police to reopen the case and closed the school.
Further, a new law called the Dogani (Silenced) law was passed in late October 2011. The new law eliminates the limitations statute for sex crimes against minors and the disabled. In 2012 one of the perpetrators was sentenced to 12 years. Also, he must wear an electronic anklet for 10 years after being released.

Just as he considers abandoning the investigation, he gets a call from an anonymous source Shim Min-ho (Yoo Yeon-Seok), who works for Jang-hwan and reveals the truth that there is no stem cell cloning. Moreover, he tells Min-choel that the result of the research was fabricated along with unethical practices. Together, they reveal the truth to the public.

They were accused of false charges and got beaten by the dictatorial military government to make them confess.
The movie was inspired by the true event of the “Burim case” in 1981. Roh Moo-hyun, the 16th President of South Korea, who was still a lawyer, formed a legal team together with Moon Jae-in (the 19th President of South Korea) and Kim Kwang-il defending a group of youth that was arrested by false accusation.
