“The Shrine” Korean Movie: Storyline
A group of university students embark on international cultural exchange activities in the abandoned village of Kobe, Japan. Their main task revolves around organizing an exhibition within the village’s disused buildings.
One day, Hee Jung, a student who is exploring a nearby ruined shrine, disappears. Concerned for her safety, the group decides to search for her using clues from her painting. While exploring the shrine, Yu Mi senses an evil presence lurking within the temple. Subsequently, strange and frightening events unfold, causing some of them to be injured. Could they have unwittingly awakened evil spirits?
In the wake of these events, more students begin mysteriously dying or disappearing. Worried about the escalating situation, Yu Mi feels compelled to seek help from her old shaman friend, Myung Jin. Despite never anticipating the need to contact him again, she reaches out for assistance. Sensing an ominous force at play, Myung Jin travels to Japan and is soon confronted with a horrifying sight.
Teaming up with the town’s spiritual leader, Priest Han Ju, they work together to ensure everyone’s safety against the evil entity.
