On November 18, one of the biggest Kpop agency, Big Hit Entertainment officially acquired KOZ Entertainment. Zico founded KOZ Entertainment in November 2018. The CEO of KOZ said that it holds similar philosophy to Big Hit.
Big Hit acquired KOZ is a win-win
KOZ Entertainment CEO Yoo Seung Hyung stated, “The philosophy of KOZ, which attaches great importance to the value of artists and content and seeks innovation in the music industry, is similar to that of Big Hit, which is innovating the business model of the music industry. By collaborating with Big Hit, we will make an effort to discover skilled artists and officially push ahead with business in the global market.”
Meanwhile, the chairman of Big Hit Entertainment, Bang Si Hyuk, shared, “I am happy to be joined by Zico, the best producer, and artist of Korea. I expect KOZ’s artists to actively promote in the global market through Big Hit’s global network and music production system. I am looking forward to the synergy Big Hit and KOZ will create together.”
Big Hit is growing bigger
Big Hit x CJ ENM x BELIFT LAB
In March 2019, Big Hit established BELIFT LAB with CJ ENM. The establishment of BELIFT LAB was the beginning of the Kpop boy group, ENHYPEN chosen from I-LAND. They aim to “cement K-pop as a main-stream genre by fostering idol groups targeting the global market, and to reinvent and innovate the entertainment industry.”

Big Hit x Pledis
And earlier this year, Big Hit acquired Pledis Entertainment. At that time, Han Sung Soo, the Pledis producer, stated, “I am glad to join Big Hit, which is leading the Korean entertainment industry. This will provide an opportunity for the Pledis artists, and involved individuals to all take a step forward. I am looking forward to the future created with the combination of Pledis’s creativity and Big Hit’s strengths. We will give back with better content for fans and greater success for our artists.”
