Big Hit Entertainment Invests in AI Audio Technology Company “Supertone”

Big Hit Entertainment has invested in Supertone, AI audio technology company, with a value of 4 billion KRW (3.6 million USD). Supertone is one of the leading artificial intelligence (AI) audio companies in South Korea.

Supertone company was founded in the year 2020. It offers the first voice synthesis, voice separation, and enhancement technology for singing and acting in the world. Further, it’s not only an AI technology development company but also a research institute.

In 2020, Supertone was one of the top 100 global companies in Samsung NEXT Synthetic Media Landscape. In the same year, they signed an R&D contract with Big Hit Entertainment.

Recently, Supertone participated in TV programs such as MNet’s “One more time” and SBS’s “AI vs. Human. Both of the shows showed AI technology applied to reproduce the singers’ voices who already passed away.

Big Hit Entertainment HQ CEO Park Ji Won stated that they plan to create digital content with Supertone.
