Kpop fans, it seems that the reign of BIGBANG as the King of Kpop is not over yet. The 2nd gen boy group will soon make its long-awaited return in a highly-anticipated comeback in 2022.
On March 21 at midnight KST, YG Entertainment posted an official announcement on their social media about BIGBANG comeback in 2022. The announcement was very simple: a black polaroid photo with the possible release date of BIGBANG 2022 comeback.
BIGBANG Officially Returns with FULL Members
After 4 whole years of hiatus due to the members’ mandatory military service and COVID-19 pandemic, the 2nd gen King of Kpop, BIGBANG will soon make their official comeback in 2022.
And this time, the Kings will be back in a complete formation!
What Have BIGBANG Members Been Doing?
Following Seungri’s departure from the group due to his “Burning Sun” scandal, BIGBANG has been operating as a Kpop group of four members. And since their last final concert as a complete group in 2017, BIGBANG members G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung have all been busy with their own solo activities.
BIGBANG member G-Dragon recently collaborated with NIKE in the midst of his comeback preparation. He has also been writing lyrics and music for BIGBANG comeback songs. The main rapper, T.O.P, decided to leave YG Entertainment. Fortunately, even though he had stated that he would never make a comeback in South Korea, he still decided to join the comeback as one of BIGBANG official members.
At the same time, BIGBANG members Taeyang and Daesung completed their military service together in 2019. Taeyang is now happily married to Min Hyo Rin and just welcomed their first child in December last year. And finally, BIGBANG member Daesung has apparently been busy with his secret identity that has become not so secret anymore. BIGBANG Daesung is now a famous secret YouTuber with the name of “D’splay”.
BIGBANG Recently Completed Filming MV for Comeback 2022
So, how is the comeback preparation going so far?
Previously, YG Entertainment stated that BIGBANG had completed recording for their new comeback songs in February. Then, on March 16, an industry representative stated that BIGBANG had completed filming for their comeback MV. And this has been such a relief since their previous full-member song, “Flower Road,” didn’t have an MV at all.
“BIGBANG G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, and Daesung recently completed filming the music video for their new song. Their comeback preparations are progressing smoothly. We will inform you of the release date as well as further details on the new song soon.”
