This was a pivotal moment for BLACKPINK to cement their reputation while dealing with the uncertain contract renewal status with YG Entertainment.
Latest Update on BLACKPINK Contract Renewal Status with YG Entertainment
Now that BLACKPINK’s reputation has risen even higher with this reputable event, what about their contract renewal status with YG?
A recent update indicates that BLACKPINK members have agreed to continue their group activities. And they will reportedly conduct these activities under the management of YG Entertainment. Further in the report, YG revealed that two BLACKPINK members have reportedly signed a contract to continue BLACKPINK’s activities. And the remaining two members are set to sign the contract as well.
However, regarding individual contract renewals, the future of BLACKPINK members with YG Entertainment remains uncertain. With the company and members remaining silent, it has created restlessness among fans and the company’s shareholders.
Not only that, but various signs indicate that some members have yet to agree on the contract renewal. On top of that, Jennie has also filed 10 trademarks for her name, JENNIE RUBY JANE, at KIPRIS (Korea Intellectual Property Rights Info Service). This has escalated the rumors that at least Jennie and Lisa would reportedly continue their individual activities outside YG.
