YG Entertainment seems to have entered its desperation era! In all attempts to save the company from a significant loss, YG has announced the return of BLACKPINK members for a stage greeting at the 2024 world tour movie. And yet, is this really just bait from YG to sell another BLACKPINK comeback event? Check out the following report for the complete discussion.
BLACKPINK to Reunite for Stage Greeting Comeback at 2024 World Tour Movie Premiere
Members of BLACKPINK are reuniting very soon to promote their 2024 World Tour Movie, “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS.”
YG Entertainment officially announced last week that 4 members of BLACKPINK, Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa, would be attending the production conference for the 2024 movie “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS.” This event would reportedly take place at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul, on August 9.
According to the announcement, BLACKPINK members will personally visit the theater in a complete 4-member formation. They will also express their gratitude to fans and those who have highly anticipated this movie by presenting a stage greeting.
The announcement immediately went viral as this would be the first time the four members reunited in approximately 11 months. It is particularly special after BLACKPINK completed their world tour finale performance in September last year.
A Comeback Bait from YG Entertainment?
The stage greeting announcement has become an incredible news event, especially for those who have been eagerly waiting for BLACKPINK’s return. And yet, many have also raised the question of whether this stage greeting event is bait from YG Entertainment for a pretend comeback from their best-selling group, BLACKPINK.
Previously, YG Entertainment had reportedly been suffering from a massive loss in profits. Compared to the other big four companies, YG’s revenue in the second quarter was unexpectedly low. And that’s pretty understandable.
Why? Because YG currently has only one rookie group actively carrying the whole company, BABYMONSTER. And despite their unrivaled talents and skills, it is too early for BABYMONSTER to singlehandedly carry the whole company on their shoulder, especially when the other big 4 companies are producing multiple new groups at the same time.
Hence, the company finally turned to the two groups that have successfully built the company, hoping to save their reputation and, of course, generate more revenues: 2NE1 and BLACKPINK.
However, it is still impossible to create a full comeback of the same legendary quality for both 2NE1 and BLACKPINK. After all, the two groups’ main producer, Teddy Park, has been busy with THE BLACK LABEL and his new girl group.
Therefore, YG is merely left with only BLACKPINK and 2NE1’s existing songs.
And so, do you think this BLACKPINK comeback bait will successfully save YG Entertainment? As of today, tickets have reportedly been selling fast for both the stage greeting and pink carpet participation.
But what do you think about this promising event? Will you come to the stage greeting of the 2024 movie “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN CINEMAS”? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
