On August 10 (KST), the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Craft and Design Foundation (KCDF) announced the selected Kpop groups and ten companies from the hanbok industry for the “Hanbok Wave” project in 2021.
“Hanbok Wave” is part of the 2021 Korean Wave – Collaborative Content Planning and Development – project. The project aims to help the hanbok industry become a pioneer in global markets through collaboration with artists.
Hanbok plays a significant role in creating a new Hallyu wave on the world stage by actively participating in publicity such as stage costumes, wardrobe for filming, and pictorial shooting.
Previously, many Korean artists have participated in spreading the Hanbok culture through the “Hanbok Wave.” Such as Chungha, Ambiguous Dance Company, Golden Child, KARD, K-Tigers, Momoland, Na Yoon-sun, and Jung Hyo-min.
