This year is the third year of the Hanbok Culture Week celebration since 2018. Every year, the event takes place on the third week of October, with various programs like exhibitions, interactive events, and fashion shows.
The Hanbok week is taking place twice this year since there was a natural disaster last year. The first event took place last spring. The exhibition themed “K-pop X Hanbok,” earned many positive responses.
Meanwhile, the second event takes place on October 11 – 17 with the theme “Hanbok suits your life.” In addition, this fall edition will have an exhibition that brings the themes of “K-Drama X Hanbok” and “Hanbok Garden,” where it shows the Hanboks seen in movies or TV series.
Besides arranging online programs, like 3D online spaces and merging Hanbok and local cultures, it also held at ten places abroad.

Brave Girls in Modern Hanboks.
On October 13, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hwang Hee, awarded Brave Girls a Hanbok Love Certificate of Appreciation since they have taken part in spreading the love of Hanbok in everyday life or spreading the beauty of Hanbok.

Earlier, Brave Girls took part in the ‘Hanbok Wave Project 2021,’ part of Korean Wave Collaborative Content Planning and Development. The Hanbok Wave Project aims to help the Hanbok industry pioneer in planning and designing the Hanbok products.
In the ceremony, each member of Brave Girls wore different Hanboks in modern styles.
Eunji wore a mid-calf modern Hanbok with layers designed like a sundress with camisole style and a dark blue flower pattern goreum on top. The design is very chic and still shows the charm aesthetics of the traditional Hanbok.
Minyoung wore a chic black modern Hanbok. The design of modern Hanbok is like a dress with Jeogori style on top. It has long and wide sleeves, while the skirt has layers with an asymmetrical line.
Yujeong wore a modern Hanbok with a white and red floral pattern, which consisted of a vest and skirt. She wore the vest over a white blouse, and a lovely red Hanbok belt decorated her high waistband skirt.
While Yuna wore a simple white shirt with a square neckline and long sleeves, it combined with a yellow floral pattern Hanbok skirt with a high waistband and pleat styles with a dark green Hanbok belt.
DKB & Yoo Jung Suk also received the Hanbok Love Certification of Appreciation.
In addition, besides Brave Girls, some Korean artists were also awarded the Hanbok Love Certificate of Appreciation. They are Kpop boy group DBK and Yoo Jung Suk. DKB joined the same program of Hanbok Wave project 2021 with Brave Girls.
Meanwhile, Yoo Jung Suk contributed to spreading the love of Hanbok in everyday life by wearing Hanbok during his show “How Do You Play” in the episodes “MSG Wannabe” from March to May 2021.
