Yook Sungjae has officially discharged from his military service on November 14, 2021. However, after receiving an offer to star in a new drama based on Webtoon, he finally decided to take the role. This upcoming project means he will officially return to the small screens after military service.
Webtoon-based Drama “The Golden Spoon”
The upcoming drama “The Golden Spoon,” is a Webtoon-based drama with the same title, created by Seong Hyun-dong or HD3. The Webtoon was released from 2016 to 2018 with 106 chapters. You can check out the Webtoon here.
The story follows a young man who was born from a low-income family but full of love. One day, he switched his life and parents with his wealthy friend using a magic golden spoon. But then, will he love his new life and parents? He only has three chances to change his mind.
The golden spoon symbolizes someone who was born and grew up in a wealthy family. And in this drama, Yook Sung Jae will play the protagonist named Lee Seung Cheon.
Moreover, “The Kings Affection” director will direct the upcoming drama “The Golden Spoon.” Meanwhile, Kim Eun Hee, who wrote “Winter Sonata” and “Sweet 18,” and Yoon Eun Kyung will pen the script. In addition, Samhwa Networks and Studio N will produce the drama with phycological, supernatural, and fantasy genres.
“The Golden Spoon” Cast Lineup and Release Date
“The Golden Spoon” will be the first project of Yook Sungjae after being discharged from military service. Thus, many Kdrama fans are already anticipating how he will play his role in the new drama.
Currently, the cast lineup for the drama has not been confirmed yet. However, if it’s already confirmed, it’s reported will start filming this year and air in the first half of 2022.
Yook Sungjae has impressive acting skills that have shown in many popular dramas. Some of his popular dramas are The Heirs, Reply 1994, School 2015, Goblin, and Mystic Pop-Up Bar.
