Fans had screamed tears of joy when reports emerged that they could possibly attend BTS Global Concert 2022 in Busan for free. But is it true, though? Check out the following details for a complete update about what it REALLY means behind BTS “free concert” in Busan.
UPDATE on August 24:
BIGHIT has officially announced that BTS will be holding a FREE concert for WORLD EXPO 2030 Busan. The concert will be held on October 15 at 6 PM KST at Busan Ilkwang Special Stage with the support of Busan Metropolitan City and the “2030 Busan World Expo” Bidding Committee.
Here’s the official announcement from BIGHIT:
BTS to Hold Global Concert 2022 in Busan for “FREE”
As a part of their official duty as the bidding ambassador for World Expo 2030 Busan, BTS will hold a global concert in October 2022 to support Busan’s negotiation process. But is it true that fans can attend the concert for free?
On August 6, Korean media reported that BTS will hold their scheduled global concert for Busan Expo 2030 bidding process in mid-October 2022. HYBE, Busan City, and the Expo Promotion Committee have been conducting thorough negotiations over the date and venue.
The report also mentioned that HYBE considered making BTS global concert 2022 in Busan free of charge.
The BIGGEST Busan Event EVER!
But is it really true, though?
After all, the committee expected that BTS global concert to be the biggest event ever held in Busan. They also expect that almost 100,000 people will be attending the concert. That is why the committee is choosing among 3 largest venues in Busan to cover all the excitement from fans and the general public.
Here are the three largest places that have become the venue candidate for BTS global concert 2022 in Busan.
Busan Asiad Main Stadium
Samnak Ecological Park
Bukhang Port
Will BTS Global Concert 2022 in Busan Be REALLY Free?
Along with the huge anticipation for the bidding process for World Expo 2030 Busan, BTS global concert 2022 will be the first time BTS performing together following their chapter 2 announcement.
After a whole year of long lobbying process from the Busan government, BTS finally signed the ambassadorship to support Busan in their bidding effort to bring World Expo 2030 to Busan.
That is why Busan is extremely excited in the preparation process. They are considering expanding means of transportation to Busan both by air and train. All these to prepare for the tens of thousands of both domestic and international fans who will be swarming the place like nobody ever seen.
And since BTS global concert 2022 in Busan is claimed to be the biggest event, fans begin questioning the fact whether it will be really free of charge.
After all, once the news about BTS free concert circulated on the internet and social media, the original article revised and deleted the “free” part of the concert.
Indeed, the possibility of fans attending the concert for free is now almost nonexistent now. But we’re still waiting for HYBE and Busan government to make an official announcement and confirmation.
the article was significantly edited and updated at 2:47 pm KST

What “FREE” Possibly Means
Finally, it is entirely possible that the “free concert” in the original article has a different meaning.
Previously, the original article mentioned that HYBE had agreed to hold the concert free of charge, reflecting the people’s aspiration to host the World Expo 2030 in Busan.
However, it doesn’t immediately mean that fans will be able to attend the concert for free. That is because the sentence may also mean that HYBE and BTS are joining the concert without taking any payment from the committee or Busan government.
So.. is it “Free” as in people don’t have to pay for tickets, or as in BTS and their company won’t take payment for participating? 😳😳😳

Could it be, that the „for free“ part means BTS are doing if for free and not that the tickets will be for free?

Will You Join BTS in Their Busan Global Concert 2022?
So, are you excited about the concert? After all the good reasons for BTS chapter 2, we can finally see them back together again on stage in full formation.
Hopefully, all BTS members will be able to reunite with their fans once again, full of joy and happiness. That is especially knowing the fact that BTS will possibly go into mandatory military service this year.
