On January 4, Taeyang’s new agency, The Black Label, dropped a poster teasing the artist’s upcoming single. (Un)surprisingly, BTS Jimin will collaborate with Taeyang in the forthcoming single, VIBE.

On January 9, Taeyang dropped the upcoming release’s second photo teaser, including the details about lyrics writers and composer. Get ready for the two soulful voices of the two singers.

As soon as the poster was dropped, V.I.P and ARMY screamed excitedly at the collaboration. However, it seems not surprising, thanks to the now-deleted post of Taeyang. Previously, Taeyang posted a photo of him at his recording studio with a mystery artist that fans had suspected was Jimin.

Big Bang Taeyang is set to release his upcoming single, VIBE, featuring BTS Jimin on January 13. VIBE will serve as Taeyang’s first solo music in almost 6 years since his third solo album White Night.

Meanwhile, VIBE will be Jimin’s second solo collaboration project after With You in 2022 with Ha Sung-woon, an OST for Kdrama Our Blues. Yet, it will be Jimin’s first solo release after BTS announced that they would focus on each member’s solo projects.

Not only becomes great news for V.I.P and ARMY, but the collaboration is also an exciting chance for Jimin. It has been known that Jimin has proclaimed his admiration for Taeyang several times, even calling him his “idol.”

Will It Be Jimin’s ONLY Solo Release Outside BTS?

After all of BTS 2022 solo releases – j-hope with Jack in the Box album in July, Jin with The Astronaut in October, Jungkook with the 2022 FIFA World Cup song Dreamers in November, and RM with Indigo album in December – now it is time for Jimin. However, will this collab with Taeyang will be his ONLY solo release?

In June 2022, Jimin revealed on Weverse that he felt a “little lost” due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Other BTS members then suggested channeling those feelings into his own solo music.

“You know, some of the older members have already dealt with some darker material on their solo mixtapes. So, I think I’m trying to do something similar.” BTS Jimin on Weverse.

Besides, Jimin also shared that his solo project will include his mature side too. Therefore, we can expect more solo releases from the singer, which will show the rawness and real persona of Park Jimin.
