The Korean Business Research Institute has published the brand reputation rankings for October 2023, highlighting Kpop male idol groups. In this month’s rankings, BTS secured the first position, followed by NCT, SEVENTEEN, EXO, and THE BOYZ, solidifying their spots in the list of the most popular Kpop boy groups. Below are the top 50 Kpop boy group brand reputation rankings for October 2023, showcasing popular male groups.
October 2023 Kpop Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings
The Korean Business Research Institute analyzed consumer behavior from September 8 to October 8, 2023. They assessed 49,949,476 data points across participation, media, communication, and community indices for boy groups. Compared to September, the data decreased by 18.89% from 61,583,919 brand data.
As a result, BTS, NCT, SEVENTEEN, EXO, and THE BOYZ continued to dominate the top five positions as the most popular Kpop boy groups in October 2023.

1. BTS
- Participation Index: 291,604
- Media Index: 1,305,646
- Communication Index: 2,102,705

BTS, the boy group with all seven members reportedly renewing contracts with BIGHIT MUSIC, experienced a 23.72% decline in their brand reputation index. The index dropped from 7,785,449 in September to 5,938,734. Despite the decrease, the group managed to maintain their position at the top of the list this month.
In BTS’s keyword analysis, “Jimin,” “Jungkook,” and “ARMY” emerged as top-ranking phrases. Their highest-ranking related terms were “record,” “renew contract,” and “collaborate.” Additionally, the analysis showed an impressive 90.98 percent positive reaction score.
2. NCT

Kpop group NCT introduced a new unit, NCT NEW TEAM. NCT achieved a brand reputation index of 4,553,925, which marks a 12.69% increase from their September index of 4,041,162. Consequently, they moved up from third place to second place in the brand reputation rankings this month.
3. SEVENTEEN

The boy group SEVENTEEN is set to make a comeback on October 23 with their 11th mini album titled “SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN.” However, their brand reputation index of 3,609,941 this month decreased by 32.59% compared to September. Consequently, they fell from second to third in the brand reputation rankings.
4. EXO

- Communication Index: 576,278
- Community Index: 1,121,524
Kpop group EXO experienced a decline of 29.90% in their brand reputation index, dropping from 3,578,789 in September to 2,508,554 this month. Despite the decline, they maintained their position in fourth place. Additionally, the group recently returned with a new season of their reality show “EXO’s Travel the World on a Ladder,” generating excitement among fans worldwide.
5. THE BOYZ
- Participation Index: 83,981
- Media Index: 653,620
- Communication Index: 248,572
- Community Index: 1,174,173
THE BOYZ achieved a brand reputation index of 2,160,346 this month. It decreased by 32.99% compared to their brand reputation index of 3,224,010 in September. Nevertheless, they maintained their fifth-place position in this month’s rankings.
In recent news, the group has been confirmed to perform at the 2023 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan and the 2023 Asia Artist Awards in the Philippines, both scheduled for December.
