BTS “ON” Kinetic Manifesto Film
Based on Big Hit Entertainment’s press release, the “Kinetic Manifesto Film is an expression that best depicts the concept of the lead single.” BTS members reflect the experiences and challenge the seven years of their journey pursuing their careers in music through the film and lyric, which is propulsive and empowering.
While in a new interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music’s New Music Daily, BTS RM spoke about the single “It’s like a big diary for our past seven years. … It’s kind of about [how] we could stumble from time to time, but we got back up. … When we say ‘On,’ it’s like, ‘We on,’ or like, ‘On air.’ It’s like, ‘Bring it on.’ We could imagine it [as] many things.”
On a posted video, before the film officially premiered, RM stated: “It’s our own honest story that we wanted to tell you, so we hope you enjoy it.” J-Hope added: “Trust me, you won’t be sorry you waited,” while Jimin said: “We worked really hard to bring you next-level performance and music, so I hope you’ll love it.”
This film opens with 30 dancers “THE LAB” and 12 marching bands “Blue Devils” with a warrior grab inside an abandoned urban landscape. The film’s location was in Sepulveda Dam, California. The vibe of the dance, it’s similar to the “Not Today” music video, where the boys made a formation with the dancers.
What you should not miss in BTS “ON” Kinetic Manifesto Film
The highlights of the seven-piece group are Jimin’s blue hair, Suga raps while other members playing drums, Jungkook took the lead on the powerful and slick dance.
Black and white theme is a reflection of their song that released in 2013, “NO,” that shows the journey they have got. It proves by the concept of their outfits on both MV. A high leap made by Jimin in “ON,” also exists in “NO” music video.
Jimin and V are wearing white outfits. It is a hint for their duet song in album Map of the Soul: 7 – titled Friends, sharing their special friendship.
There are two fake tattoos on V’s face and neck that related to the previous interlude by Suga and crack shaped tattoo, just like in the Interlude: “Shadow” and “Blood, Sweat, and Tears.” Another highlight of this film is all the boys were lined up sequentially by their age, start from the oldest Jin to the youngest Jungkook.
The Choreographer of BTS Music Videos
On every new music video, BTS always gives surprises for their loving fans. One of the wonders in this Kinetic Manifesto Film music video is the performance of the choreographer at the beginning of the MV.
This young, creative, and energetic girl named is Sienna Lalau. Lalau was born and raised in Hawaii. She has been dancing since she was very young at the age of 3 1/2 years old. Her first collaborated with BTS was at the age of 13 y/o, where she worked on the “Chicken Noodle Soup” choreography for J-Hope feat. Becky G.
Then at the age of 18 year old, she was working together with Andrew Elam for the choreography for the song “Dionysius” from the album of Map of The Soul: Persona. Her choreography was shocking as the choreography was more upbeat and very energetic.
BTS “ON” Kinetic Manifesto Film is breathtaking with its killer dance moves. Get prepared for another MV of “ON” on February 28, guys!
