Kim Namjoon turned 26 over on September 12. This year, the BTS leader known with stage name BTS RM donates a generous amount to The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) for art publications. Back in 2019, he also donated an amount of fund 84.000 U.S. dollars on the occasion of his birthday to help students with hearing impairment in music education.

This year, BTS RM donates 100 million KRW or close to 85.000 U.S. dollars to the MMCA Foundation. This generous donation aims to improve and spread the culture of reading beautiful art books. Moreover, it is also to help young people to develop their own taste in art.
The funds will be used to republish and distribute a total of 4,000 copies of nine different art publications that are currently difficult to find or out of print. Moreover, 400 public libraries and school libraries across the country will receive the books—primarily rural and mountainous areas where there are only a few museums and galleries. The books will be available at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art’s bookstore for anyone interested in buying them.
The National Museum of Contemporary Art’s Director, Yoon Beom-mo stated, “We are very happy and amazed by RM’s wishes as he expressed his intention to support the arts, where he finds inspiration and comfort. Just as he can gain a deeper understanding of art through books, he shares his hope that children and youth who may not have easy access to the museums can easily access the art [through these books]. “
He continued, “RM, who continues to visit the museum despite his busy schedule, has been a positive influence in spreading the interest in art. Together, we will work hard to spreading the culture of reading books about art.”

Right on his birthday on September 12, BTS RM has been selected as the “Charity Fairy” on the idol ranking service My Love Idol. He became the 77th “Charity Fairy” with 60,292,762 votes. Further, Choeaedol will donate 410$ in a Charity in the name of Kim Namjoon to the Miral Welfare Foundation.
