BTS pride rapper and producer SUGA is now the official global ambassador for the National Basketball Association (NBA). So, what does it mean, and how did it happen? Check out the following report for the complete details about BTS SUGA and his latest role as NBA global ambassador 2023.
BTS SUGA is the NBA Global Ambassador 2023
BTS rapper and producer SUGA has one more dream coming true this year! As a hardcore fan of basketball and the NBA competitions, BTS SUGA has gotten the opportunity to personally involve himself in the association and its season match.
Unfortunately, we won’t see him joining one of the NBA clubs as a player. Instead, BTS SUGA is now the official global ambassador of the National Basketball Association (NBA) 2023.
NBA and BIGHIT MUSIC announced on April 6 that BTS rapper, producer, songwriter, and global star SUGA had become the 2023 global ambassador for the National Basketball Association (NBA). The North America basketball association posted a video on its Twitter account, showing the BTS superstar announcing his newly-appointed role with proud eyes and a charming smile.
“Hello, I am SUGA of BTS.
BTS SUGA.
I’m proud to announce that I have become an NBA global ambassador.”
What Does It Mean, and What Are His Duties?
The new collaboration between BTS SUGA and NBA brings a fresh dynamic between sports and music, building a brand-new relationship with mutual benefits.
According to NBA reports, BTS SUGA will participate in the remaining season of NBA games and build more engagement with fans as its global ambassador starting from the 2022 – 2023 season.
As a longtime avid NBA fan, SUGA will also take part in various league initiatives and actively participate in the league’s promotional activities. In addition, SUGA will also be able to attend various NBA games and events in the United States and Asia as the official ambassador. And finally, both the BTS star and NBA will have each other names featured on their social media accounts.
But most importantly, NBA will actively participate in its ambassador’s first world tour. They will have an exciting collaboration for selected concerts, celebrating SUGA’s solo album debut, D-DAY.
Official Statement
“Music and basketball are both a passion I have had since childhood. It is a dream to become an NBA ambassador.
I’m excited to form this official relationship with the NBA. And I cannot wait to share exciting collaborations we have planned over the coming months.”

“We are thrilled to join forces with a superstar musician, fashion icon, and passionate NBA fan, SUGA. And we look forward to working with him, bringing the identical excitement he engenders from his global fanbase to support our continued efforts to grow our brand.”
Mark Tatum, NBA Deputy Commissioner, and Chief Operating Officer.
Remnants of SUGA and his love for basketball and NBA games have been exciting details for BTS fans throughout the year. Previously, NBA player Damian Lillard sent a message for him as a response to SUGA’s admiration for him and his team, the Portland Trail Blazers.
Then, SUGA also attended the NBA Japan Games 2022 in September last year. Sitting on the courtside, SUGA made his presence a massive sensation both during the game and his behind-the-scenes social media content, including the meet-and-greets with NBA players and legends.
Today, SUGA finally has one more dream coming true by representing the one thing he loves the most besides music. Congratulations, SUGA!
