BTS to Perform at ‘Global Citizen Live’ 2021 to Fight Covid-19

What is Global Citizen Live 2021?

Global Citizen Live is part of the Global Citizen’s 2021 global campaign, Recovery Plan for the World. The goal is to assist in the equitable recovery from COVID-19, end extreme poverty, and save the earth from climate change.

Global Citizen Live is a 24-hour global broadcast event that will be starting on September 25. The broadcast will feature musicians, celebrities, and world leaders from six continents coming together to make a change and impact climate and poverty.

 Hugh Jackman will host the Global Citizen Live 2021 show, and the live show will be featuring world-class artists lineup. Among the artists and entertainments, BTS will also hold a live performance on the Global Citizen Live 2021.

As reported by Variety, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans stated, “BTS literally will inspire an entire region and the world. They’re not just one of the world’s greatest K-pop acts, and they’re one of the world’s greatest artists, period.”

He added, “and I think their career has shown that they have such an incredibly epic reach that inspires people to participate. So the fact that they’re going to be so involved in Global Citizen Live in such a big way is incredible.”

Global Citizen Live 2021 Lineup

For the first time, BTS will perform at ‘Global Citizen Live’ 2021 with other star-studded line-up. Including Ed Sheeran, who was co-writing BTS’ new song “Permission to Dance,” will also participate in the live show.

Other top international artists and entertainers that will take part are Andrea Bocelli, Billie Eilish, Camila Cabello, Coldplay, Demi Lovato, DJ Snake, Doja Cat, Green Day, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd, Usher, and more.

When is Global Citizen Live?

The Global Citizen Live 2021 will air on Saturday, September 25 (EST) or Sunday, September 26 (KST). It will be featuring live performances and events filmed in major cities across six continents, including Seoul, Lagos, Rio de Janeiro, New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, and Sydney.

How to watch Global Citizen Live?

The live show will be a 24-hour live broadcast that goes worldwide. You can watch Global Citizen Live 2021 on-air and via live stream on ABC, ABC News Live, BBC, FX, iHeartRadio, Hulu, YouTube, and Twitter.

It will air for six hours on the BBC channel, while ABC and Disney will cover the show via their platforms. iHeartRadio will also cover the event in North America. More details about the live broadcast will be announced on August 3.
