BTS V Did NOT Violate Cellphone Rules During Military Service
The drama between Min Heejin and HYBE has been escalating at massive speed, especially after BTS’ names were dragged into the story. Now that Min Heejin finally decided to leave HYBE, new facts are pouring in in attempts for the company and its artists to cut off Min Heejin’s name from any relationship they might have.
One of the most controversial issues was when Min Heejin claimed to have a close relationship with BTS V. During an interview, Min Heejin stated that BTS V often contacted her via cellphone during his time in military service. According to Min Heejin, her relationship with BTS V had been quite close, and he often made contact even when he is conducting mandatory military service.
A controversy emerged, however, when Min Heejin claimed that BTS V texted to congratulate her at dawn on her birthday. This creates more accusations that BTS V had violated military rules for using a cellphone outside of the scheduled time. Then, the issue escalated into preferential treatment for BTS V in the military.

Confirmation from Korean Military: BTS V Follows the Cellphone Rules During His Service
But now, it is finally confirmed that BTS V did NOT violate any military rules, especially regarding the use of cellphones. In fact, the Korean military released official statements on this issue.
- Mobile Phone Usage Policy:
Recruits at the training center can use their phones for one hour per day during rest periods, such as weekends and public holidays. - Kim Taehyung’s Phone Usage:
Taehyung has been following the guidelines. He has been using his phone in the permitted afternoon time slot, not during early morning hours. - No Special Treatment:
There is no evidence suggesting Taehyung received any special privileges or exceptions due to his celebrity status.
Along with the above statement, the Korean military also declared that there had been no evidence of BTS V contacting Min Heejin at dawn.
“Details of Kim Taehyung’s calls or texts cannot be shared due to the Personal Information Protection Act and the Telecommunications Privacy Act.
Recruits are permitted to use phones only during designated times at the training center, and there is no evidence that Taehyung texted Min Hee Jin at dawn.”

What is V’s Relationship with Min Heejin?
With this new revelation, fans began to wonder just how close the relationship between BTS V and Min Heejin is.
Indeed, what has been evidently proven is that BTS V definitely did not violate any rules to contact Min Heejin during military service. However, there is no clear proof that BTS V has not contacted Min Heejin at all.
Not only that, Min Heejin only stated that BTS V congratulated her at the dawn of her birthday. While the interview was in October 2024, Min Heejin did not specify which birthday she referred to.
That is why, the nature of BTS V and Min Heejin relationship remains unclear as of today. While it was true that V contacted Min Heejin to work on his solo album, nobody really knows how close they are in real life.
