BTS V Self-Produced Song for a Drama Soundtrack (Itaewon Class OST)

BTS V confessed that he had been writing songs during a VLIVE stream on March 6. In the VLIVE, V and RM are discussing songwriting. “I’ve written three songs,” said V when asked by RM about songwriting.

BTS V solo song for Itaewon Class OST

The news spread that one of the songs BTS V is producing will be the Itaewon Class OST. This will be V’s first self-produced solo song for a drama soundtrack. It’s not a surprise, knowing that BTS V’s close friend, Park Seo Joon, appears in Itaewon Class. Both are a part of “Wooga Squad” together with Park Hyung Sik, PeakBoy, and Choi Woo Sik.

The song V produced for Itaewon Class soundtrack is entitled “Sweet Night.” This song’s genre is indie-pop with an acoustic feel. It will be available on online music sites on March 13 at 6 PM KST.

BTS V and Park Seo Joon first met as co-stars for Hwarang in 2016. Together with BTS Jin, V sang the OST of Hwarang at that time.

Right after the VLIVE, hashtag #TaehyungOSTisComing became trending on Twitter. ARMYs tweeted how they are proud of V and can’t wait for the new song. One of the ARMYs even noticed the number of song V has written.

Itaewon Class

The drama itself is actually adapted from Webtoon. The writer, Jo Gwang Jin, wrote both the webcomic and the screenplay. Directed by Kim Sung Yoon, Itaewon Class has been on JTBC since the end of January 2020. It is on JTBC every Friday and Saturday at 10.50 PM KST. It is planned to finish on March 21.

The story is about the life of an ex-convict, Park Sae Roy (Park Seo Joon). His life turns upside down after he is expelled from school, and his father is killed in a motorcycle accident. Burnt with anger Park Sae Roy beats the one who killed his father in the accident. For such a crime, he should live in prison for three years. After he is released, he starts a bar-restaurant in Itaewon.
