The 21st-century pop icon, BTS, continues to break records with their BTS: YET TO COME IN CINEMAS highest grossing worldwide event cinema release. Presented by HYBE, CJ 4DPlex, and Trafalgar Releasing, the project generated $40m global box office gross .
BTS: YET TO COME IN CINEMAS Became the Highest Grossing Worldwide Event Cinema
Presented by HYBE, CJ 4DPlex, and Trafalgar Releasing, BTS: Yet To Come in Cinemas generated $40m global box office gross and became the highest grossing worldwide event cinema release. The project boasted a footprint of more than 5,817 cinemas across 128 countries/territories, which includes a total of 617 coming from CJ 4DPlex’s 4DX and ScreenX locations.
BTS: Yet to Come in Cinemas compellingly features a special cinematic cut of the concert BTS <Yet to Come> in Busan, particularly re-edited and remixed for the big screen. Moreover, it offers close-up angles and a whole new view of the entire concert.
In addition to standard screenings, showings on February 4 were specially dedicated to “Light Stick Screenings,” where audiences celebrated with ARMY Bombs (the group’s signature light sticks).
BTS: YET TO COME IN CINEMAS Earned Total Gross Over $8M in North America Only
Running for 5 days from February 1 to 5 in North America, the total gross of BTS: Yet To Come in Cinemas exceeded $8M, with a per-screen average of more than $7,080 across 1,127 movie theaters.
Meanwhile, the film grossed more than $1.5M in the 4DX and ScreenX premium formats with a pre-screen average of $12,000. It represented 19% of the North America box office on only 10% of the screens.
Top International Release in Several Countries
Internationally, BTS: Yet To Come in Cinemas went to the top five positions for the weekend in territories including Korea, Italy, Japan, and Spain.
Meanwhile, the project was in the top ten positions in the UK, Germany, Peru, and Australia. Additionally, BTS: Yet to Come in Cinemas reached #1 in Mexico, Colombia, and the Philippines, as well as the #1 international release in India.

Together with the massive number of ARMY (BTS fans) around the world, HYBE, CJ 4DPlex, and Trafalgar Releasing created a historic moment in event cinema. BTS: Yet To Come in Cinemas in ScreenX provides an immersive experience that puts audiences in the front row.
Audiences will feel like watching BTS live in concert with a 270-degree field of view and exclusive imagery. Not only that, audiences are surrounded by unique motion and environmental effects in multi-sensory 4DX that reproduce the atmosphere of a live concert. The more exciting thing is that it was completed with synchronized seats timed to BTS’ hit songs.

The ScreenX Studio production team focused on providing a totally different experience for moviegoers by shooting the film with fourteen cinematography cameras, which were not used in the live streaming event, and were re-edited for the ScreenX presentation.”
