SBS New Drama “My Brother’s House is Empty”
On June 20, XportsNews reported that the 24-year-old rising star Cho Yi Hyun received an offer to lead SBS’ new Korean drama, “My Brother’s House is Empty” (literal title).
In response to the news, Cho Yi Hyun’s agency Artist Company stated,
“‘When My Brother’s House is Empty’ is one of the projects proposed to Cho Yi Hyun.”
The agency added,
“Although it is currently under review, no final decisions have been made.”
The webtoon “My Brother’s House is Empty” explores a scandalous cohabitation situation involving third-generation chaebol Cha Eun Myung and famous actor Je Jun Young in a modern-day romance. Based on Taeso Young’s web novel, it was later adapted into a webtoon by writer Lee Seo Hee and gained significant popularity.
“My Brother’s House is Empty” Storyline
“My Brother’s House is Empty” offers a unique twist to the typical romance series. It follows the story of Cha Eun Myung, a third-generation chaebol, who leaves home after a conflict with her stepmother. In order not to burden her best friend, Hee Young, she decides to stay at Hee Young’s older brother’s empty house temporarily.
A month later, she unexpectedly crosses paths with Hee Young’s older brother, who turns out to be none other than Korea’s top movie star, Je Jun Young! The two find themselves in a bewildering situation as the scandal unfolds.
SBS is currently considering the drama for a 12-episode run, with filming scheduled to start in mid-September.
Cho Yi Hyun’s Dramas
Cho Yi Hyun’s acting journey began as a supporting role in the web drama “Sweet Revenge” in 2017. Since then, she has steadily climbed the ladder of success, starring in popular Korean dramas such as “Witch at Court,” “The Guest,” “Hospital Playlist,” and “Inspector Koo.”

In the romantic comedy “Vampire Chef,” she will play the role of Hong Ki Jun, a vampire chef and the owner of a mysterious restaurant in Itaewon. Additionally, Cho Yi Hyun is expected to return in “All of Us Are Dead” Season 2, portraying a new version of her character as a half-zombie, half-human.
