Cho Yi Hyun and Choo Young Woo May Reunite in New Webtoon-Based Drama “Gyunwoo and Fairy”

According to an exclusive report by MyDaily on August 21, “School 2021” stars Cho Yi Hyun and Choo Young Woo have been cast in a new webtoon-based drama “Gyunwoo and Fairy,” created by writer Ahn Soo Min. It began serialization in February 2020 and has since received significant praise.
In response to the casting report, Cho Yi Hyun’s agency, Artist Company, confirmed the news , and stating, “Cho Yi Hyun is positively considering the offer to star in “Gyunwoo and Fairy.” In the same way, Choo Young Woo’s agency, J Wide Company, confirmed they are also positively reviewing the opportunity to participate in the project.
“Gyunwoo and Fairy” Storyline
The upcoming drama is a live adaptation of a popular webtoon of the same name, “Gyeon Woo and Fairy.” This fantasy romance drama follows Park Sung Ah, a high school student by day and a shaman at night. When she discovers that her first love, Baek Gyun Woo, is dying, she embarks on a mission to rescue him.
Production
The upcoming drama will be director Kim Yong Wan’s new project. He is known for his dramas, such as “Love Cells,” “If You Wish Upon Me,” and “The Whirlwind.”
According to reports, the upcoming fantasy romance drama “Gyeon Woo and Fairy” will exclusively premiere on tvN in 2025. In addition, the drama will come with a total of 12 episodes.
Cho Yi Hyun and Choo Young Woo Updates
Last June, Cho Yi Hyun was reportedly in talks for an upcoming webtoon-based drama, “My Brother’s House is Empty.” However, there is no further information regarding whether the actress accepted the offer.
If Cho Yi Hyun accepts, she will portray the role of Sung Ah, a high school student who is also a shaman. She will strive to rescue her dying first love.
Previously, Choi Sung Eun received an offer to play the role, but it appears she declined as she will take a lead role in a new drama, “Last Summer,” with Lee Jae Wook.
In addition, if Choo Young Woo accepts the offer, he will play the role of Gyeon Woo, a man who doesn’t believe in gods or shamans. This role will mark his comeback drama after “Oasis” in 2023.
If both stars accept the offers, it will be an exciting reunion! The upcoming drama series will mark their second project together since their previous drama, “School 2021.”
