According to an exclusive report by Hankook Ilbo on August 7, the star of “A Killer Paradox,” Choi Woo Shik, will reportedly lead Disney+’s Korean drama series “The Waking” (working title).
In response to the casting news, a representative from Cho Woo Shik’s agency, Fable Company, stated,
“The project is one of the works that has been offered and is still under review.”

“The Waking” Storyline
The upcoming Korean drama series “The Waking” is a fascinating blend of fantasy and horror that tells about the phenomenon of giant creatures. The narrative explores a great conflict between two opposing groups over the existence of these giant creatures. One group controls the giants, and the other group fights them.
The story follows Jun Ho, an ordinary man who works hard in a chilly warehouse. One day, while cleaning the freezer, he finds a mysterious stone. From this finding, he transforms into a giant with extraordinary abilities, leading to a series of unexpected events. Later, he goes undercover within one of the organizations.

In this exciting project, director Kim Tae Gon, known for “Project Silence,” and writer Park Joo Seok, renowned for “Train to Busan,” will team up for the first time. Additionally, Climax Studio will manage the production of this thrilling new series.
The casting process is expected to proceed with haste following Choi Woo Shik’s involvement. The filming is scheduled to begin soon after the cast lineup is finalized. Additionally, the exciting Korean drama series “The Waking”will be available exclusively on Disney+ in the first half of 2025.
